It was a long time coming, but once I found the best approach for me, it was pretty smooth sailing from there. Before I go any further, let me share my disclaimer...the process is NOT perfect. Ok, now that I got that out of the way here it is. Step 1. I first had to identify my "storage" format. I did not want to continue storing photos on my lap top. They take up too much memory and plus I run the rist of losing them, should my computer crash etc. After debating and pricing out exteral hard drives, I decided to go with jump drives as my "storage" format. The are inexpensive and easy to store. Step 2. Next I had to upload/download all of my pictures from my phone, camera memory card and laptop. This was a very time consuming process. It took me a few days at about 2-3 hours each day. Step 3....

This was a fun, quick and inexpensive gift. It's what my sister-in-law and I call the Post It Picture Frame. I found this idea on Pinterest and thought, wow, so cute and so simple. I bought the frame at Wal-Mart for .97. The background you see is scrap booking paper which I already had. A couple of weeks ago i stumbled upon a bunch of scrapbook paper books in Marshalls for $1.99 each. Bet your bottom I bought 3 of them! I post its I also bought at Wal-Mart. I believe it was a pack of 2 for $2. I adhered the post it pad to the frame using my trusty glue gun. To add a little flare, I added the ribbon to the top, also adhered with my glue gun and glued the paper embellishment to the ribbon also with my glue gun. I found the embellishments at Mitchael's on their clearance isle. It was an assorted pack of 24 for $2.48. What a deal! These would be great end of the year gifts for teachers and teacher aides. Would also be a cute little gift for Administrative Staff apprec...

I'm so excited for this weekend. For me, the weekend symbolizes freedom, friends and family. It's easy to forget why we actually get this nice little extended weekend away from work and the reality of life. So to that, I want to thank ALL of our military personel who have served, are serving and will serve our country. It is to you that we owe our freedom! What also excites me about this weekend is the time we will spend with family and friends. My niece and nephew are in town frmo Orlando. I am looking forward to spending the day with them tomorrow, headding to the pool and making memories for the cousins. I know O is excited! Another plus to the long weekend, is an extra day home with daddy. We love our weekends with Daddy and are excited to have him for an extra day! We are also looking forward to spending Sunday with some good friends over a BBQ. Really looking forward to some great food, drinks and pool time with friends and the kiddos. I made this great photo pot for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I knew she would go crazy over the pictures and would also love the flowers. Score! She loved the pot and shed some tears as well over the sentimental pictures and thought that went into the gift. Points for daughter-in-law! This project had multiple steps and required drying time between steps, but still proved to be pretty easy and fun. Step 1- purchase ceramic pot. I bought mine at Michael's for $2.75. I just happened to be at Michael's and have a coupon. You can also find them at Home Depot, Lowe's Wal-Mart, etc. Pricing all comparable. Step 2- Clean and dry your pot. You want to make sure there is no dirt or dust on your pot before painting it. I chose to use a multi-purpose spray paint, but you could also use a multiple-purpose craft paint. I don't work with spray paint often, so it was a bit tricky at first, but I got down the hand movements and consistency of spraying down just afte...

I saw this on Pinterest and thought, what a great idea! I honestly hope it is never used, but God forbid we were ever in an accident... Rescue units arrive on the scenes of accidents all too often where the parent is unconscious and the child is too young to respond. This little cheat sheet is adhered to your child's car seat and gives pertinent information about child and parents. I created one for each of our car seats. One for my car and one for Daddy's car. Simple project that could save a life. On our cheat sheet I included our son's name, date of birth, both mine and my husband's names, date of births and cell phone numbers, our pediatrician's name and office number along with a statement that he has no known medical issues. It's not a fancy thing at all (the thought did cross my mind to dress it up). I did laminate it for safe keeping. Now what are you waiting for? Go and create one for all of your car seats.

Watching cartoons from his hospital crib. Well it's been a few weeks since my last post. Since then a lot has happened. Sickness ripped through our house. My husband started with the flu. Later that same week, I had a 24 hour stomach bug, most likely the roto virus. That is one nasty virus. I guess if I had to look at the up side, I did loose 4 lbs, 2 of which are already back. Unfortunately, I wish that was the worse of it... About a week later once my husband and I were on the mend and back to normal, my son got sick and we ended up in the ER in Orlando. We had gone to Orlando for my nephew's birthday party. We made it about half way through, when we decided it was time to go. After 6 hours in the ER, sedation and drainage of  an abscess our little one had, we were on our way back to my SIL's for the night. The next morning we started O on antibiotics, had breakfast with the family and headed South for home. O seemed to be doing great; laughing and playing as norm...

This project may have taken a total of 10 minutes to do and cost me a total of $4.48, which was the cost of a 4 pack of dry erase markers and the wooden "S." I had all of the other materials. I re purposed two frames that I had stored away and scrap booking paper I already had. The large frame I hung in our office to make notes, the little 4x6 frame I keep in the kitchen and leave my husband little notes for him to find in the morning before he leaves for work. Not only is this a practical project but a fun and flirty one as well. My inspiration for this project was of course, you guessed it, Pinterest.
